Business Development & Marketing internship at Internshala

Worked as a remote intern to develop relationship between multiple architecture offices and Internshala for posting internship requirements and guest article writings.  Also wrote couple of articles for Internshala, titled “Architecture Internships in India and abroad” & “Ten things to remember while pursuing internship in an architecture office”.

Architecture internship at ART De LUX, Munich, Germany

PROJECTS

Inter-confessional Cemetery, Weinstadt, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Worked on conceptual design, site planning, 3D modeling and presentation for an archive competition of a cemetery. Primary responsibilities were divided into various phases such as design research, understanding philosophy, design conceptualization, schematic design, interior design, landscape and overall portfolio development.

Development of Reciprocal Roof structure of Cemetery, Weinstadt, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Worked on the development of the reciprocal roof structure of the Ritual hall. The design was done in accordance with the calculation of physical geometry and roofing arrangement.

Stronghold Giechburg, Schesslitz, Bavaria, Germany

Worked to develop BIM based model in AllPlan environment of the existing castle. The reference surveyed AutoCAD drawings of the existing were available and 3D BIM model of the castle was to be developed from 2D orthographic drawings.

Internship at Archinova Design Group, Bhopal, India

IBD Residency, Bhopal, India

Part of the Design team for IBD Housing Project, Development strategy and concept design. Also developed small scale presentation drawings for Residential projects.

Undergraduate thesis titled “Tribal Residential School, Bastar” based on Human Centered Design principles

Guide: Prof. Rachna Khare

Tribal residential school in Bastar using Human Centered Design framework is a thesis based on designing educational environments which can establish and upgrade physical, social, psychological, cultural and vocational values of tribal children in a remote, naxaliteaffected region of Chhattisgarh, India. The framework for designing the project is based on human centered design principles. The tribal residential school is specifically targeted towards tribal capacity building through user centered spaces. This project aims to deliver a solution to the social problem of extremely low percentages of literacy amongst tribal people in Bastar area of Chhattisgarh, India.

Research based seminar which discusses human centered designed approach towards designing educational institutions for tribal children in Chhattisgarh. The various approach levels discussed in this paper also acknowledges the framework required to sensitize towards designing for tribal children in Chhattisgarh.

Urban Design intervention for existing market places in Bhopal, MP, India

Guide: Prof. Piyush Hajela

Primary objectives included: 1. integration of all aspects about a building design and its workings‐ including service details, assessment of environmental impact, innovative structural systems and materials etc.

2. Evolving sensitivity to design of spaces at the urban scale – creation of nodes and links, visual landmarks, activity and interaction zones, relationship between commercial, recreational and residential areas.

Urban Design: Analysis of Iqbal Maidan Market area, Bhopal, MP, India

Guide: Dr. Anand Wadwekar

Worked on Spatial analysis and documentation of the historic area of old town, Bhopal which consisted of open ground, market and two ancient palaces of Royal family of Bhopal.

National Association of Students in Architecture: Annual Design Competition 2012, Bhopal, MP, India

Guide: Prof. Sanjeev Singh & Architect Ajay Vinodia

Worked with a team of 4 in designing a community park and interaction space for urban slum dwellers. The state government has rehabilitated slum dwellers into apartments but there is lack of interactive spaces for ceremonies and social gatherings. Thus keeping the theme of “Man in Nature” and utilizing urban waste, a community park was designed specifically for slum population. The entry was shortlisted in top 50.

Vernacular Architecture: Documentation and Design

Guide: Prof. Sanjeev Singh

Worked on various exercises of documentation and design based on Traditional vernacular architecture of central India. First part of exercise included documentation of a Tribe called “Rabari” of Gujarat, second part included design of a guest house and third exercise was documentation and analysis of a remote village in Central India.
